€91 dancers (88 students and 3 adults) started the marathon and 5 hours
later, all but 2 were still dancing.
€The Student Council paid for all quarter hour prizes and the cash prizes
for the top dancers from money they raised selling popcorn at this years
basketball games and from the entry fee for the dancers.
€Top student dancers were:  Haley White of Waterboro with $330.00-she
won the $90.00 first place prize.  Since the 2nd and 3rd place dancers were
so close in totals, the Council decided to give two 2nd place prizes of
$60.00 each.  These went to Sarah Spiller of Lyman with $187.72 and Casey
Lord of Alfred with $186.25.
€Ms. Lisa Grant, a 7th grade Science teacher, who was the inspiration
for the students selecting Down Syndrome since one of her sons has Down
Syndrome--money to go to Barbara Bush Children's Hospital, danced with her
sons and raised $80.00 for the causes.
€Mr. Mark Crepeau, a 7th grade Social Studies teacher at MJHS and his
wife, Joanne, danced the entire 5 hours, raising $1025.00 for the
causes.(Mr. Crepeau-905.00 and Mrs. 120.00)  It should be noted that Mr.
Crepeau has danced in all 12 dance marathons held at MJHS since 1986 and has
been the top collector at each marathon!
